Client Specific Model Development
With our extensive experience in thermodynamic modelling, we can develop client tailored predictive solutions for use in chemical process optimisation.
This may involve adding new components to one of our existing models (e.g. HWHYD), extending PVTX ranges, or developing new modelling approaches/applications to handle specific systems.
Model development generally requires equilibrium and physical property data for tuning and validation. Where existing data may be limited or missing, our extensive and versatile laboratory capabilities allow us to generate the data needed for development.
In a recent example, we generated extensive VLE data for multicomponent ethylene glycol-amine-water-salt systems for CCR Technologies of Alberta, Canada. This data was used to validate a tailored MS Windows predictive application for use in optimising MEG reclamation yields in their patented vacuum distillation process units.
As an alternative to thermodynamic models, empirical correlations may present a means for quick and easy estimation of phase behaviour in systems. We have developed numerous Microsoft Excel and executable correlations for VLE, gas hydrate and wax calculations, including examples based around Artificial Neural Network (ANN) models.
