Currently, we are seeking candidates for the following positions.

You will utilise your knowledge and experience to provide expert technical advice on flow assurance and related chemical processing operations to industrial clients, primarily from the oil and gas industry. You will manage both contract and permanent business from clients in the UK and overseas, ensuring project deliverables are achieved on time and to budget. Working with laboratory staff under your supervision, you will take a hands-on role in developing new ideas/technologies through experimental and theoretical studies.
Our ideal candidate would:
Hold a Masters Degree or PhD in Science/Engineering
Have at least 5 years relevant industry or academic experience (e.g. in flow assurance, hydrocarbon or chemical processing, petroleum engineering, pipeline/subsea engineering, PVT and Phase Behaviour)
Have excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Be able to demonstrate a history of managing successful R&D and/or engineering projects from concept to completion
Be a strong team player, self motivated, with good leadership qualities
Be a confident communicator with excellent written/oral presentation skills who is capable of building solid relationships with clients

Hydrafact Limited is a Heriot-Watt University, Institute of Petroleum Engineering, spin-out company formed in January 2006 with its main activities in gas hydrates, flow assurance, and phase behaviour and properties of reservoir fluids. The above activities could be divided into the following categories:
- Manufacturing experimental equipment
- Providing training
- Providing consultancies
- Software development
- Commercialisation of IP
Hydrafact is currently seeking enthusiastic and committed Graduate Technical Consultants.
Working under the supervision of one of our consultants/senior consultants, you will assist in technical laboratory and/or modelling work for our clients whilst undergoing intensive training. You will have a genuine opportunity to progress, ultimately to full senior consultant level after suitable training.
Our ideal candidate would:
- Have recently obtained a Masters Degree or PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g. chemical engineering, petroleum engineering, offshore engineering, or physical chemistry)
- Have good practical laboratory skills and/or computer modelling experience (e.g. thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, pipeline/process simulation)
- Practical experience and/or degree in gas hydrates, flow assurance, and/or phase behaviour and properties of reservoir fluids is an advantage
- Be a good communicator, with excellent written and oral presentation skills
- Be a strong team player, self motivated, with the ability to adapt and learn quickly
- Be able to work independently with minimum supervision
Initially posts will be for 1 year with 3 months probation period. However, with suitable performance, good prospects exist for long-term extension of contracts.
The current salary range for the above position is £20,000 — £30,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.

Working in our well-equipped machine shop, you will design and fabricate specialist laboratory equipment for studies of fluids at high pressures and high/low temperatures. You will work closely with our consultants and clients to turn novel experimental design ideas into reality.
Our ideal candidate would:
Have a formal qualification or equivalent experience in precision machining
Be proficient in the use of computer-aided design software (e.g. Autocad)
Be creative, with excellent problem solving skills
Have good communication skills, with the ability to work both as part of a team and independently with minimum supervision
Have some knowledge/experience of high pressure equipment design, manufacture and testing
