Modelling Capabilities

Hydrafact has extensive knowledge in thermodynamic and PVT modelling for the oil & gas industry. The company's modelling experience covers a wide range of flow assurance related challenges from early assessment of potential problems to designing the best remediation strategy.

 

At Hydrafact we can accurately model the phase behaviour for systems containing gas, oil, water and condensate mixtures in the presence of salts and organic inhibitors with or without gas hydrates.

 

Hydrafact can offer modelling services in the following areas:

 

  • Different scenarios for hydrate formation
  • Effect of different hydrate inhibitors on the hydrate stability zone
  • Inhibitor distribution in different phases
  • Salting out / precipitation calculations
  • Reservoir fluid density, viscosity and interfacial tension predictions
  • CO2-rich systems and the effect of impurities

The Model

Our consultancy projects are carried out using HydraFLASH - our thermodynamic and PVT prediction software which we develop and maintain at Hydrafact.

 

The HydraFLASH model can perform a wide range of phase equilibria calculations in the presence and absence of hydrates for multicomponent, multiphase aqueous and hydrocarbon systems. The model has been tuned and validated against a large in-house experimental database, which is advantageous for reliably modelling challenging real world scenarios.
