Hydrafact Awarded Innovate UK Grant to Advance Hydrate Monitoring Technology for CCUS Applications

We are proud to announce that we have secured a prestigious grant from the UK Government to enhance our globally unique hydrate monitoring platform for Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage (CCUS) applications. Building on the success of our innovative technology in the oil and gas industry, this project represents a bold step forward in applying our expertise to the rapidly growing CCUS sector.

The goal of this ground-breaking project is to develop the world’s first ultrafast and intelligent online hydrate initial formation monitoring tool, alongside smart technology capable of detecting the early signs of hydrate formation. This innovation is designed not only for hydrocarbon production to maximise economic recovery but also for CCUS applications that are crucial to achieving net-zero targets both in the UK and globally.

Currently, there is no off-the-shelf solution available to address the significant challenge posed by CO2-induced hydrates, highlighting the complexity and importance of the problem. With the support of Innovate UK (IUK), Hydrafact aims to further develop our state-of-the-art technology for real-time monitoring of CO2 clathrate hydrate-related flow assurance challenges.

Hydrafact is fully committed to the CCUS sector, aligning with both UK and local government priorities for domestic and export markets. The advancement of our smart technology will not only provide exceptional value but will also strengthen our market position, creating opportunities for team expansion, exploring new digital innovations, and entering untapped market segments, thereby driving sustained growth and diversification.
