Hydrafact Expands into New Sectors with Strategic Research Proposals
We are thrilled to announce that Hydrafact is taking a significant step forward by expanding into new sectors within the oil and gas industry. Recently, we submitted two groundbreaking research proposals, reflecting our commitment to addressing some of the industry’s most critical challenges.
In these initiatives, we have engaged a team of corrosion specialists who are collaborating closely with Hydrafact. These experts bring deep industry knowledge and experience, ensuring the highest level of expertise in the projects. The proposals are being developed in partnership with Sultan Qaboos University in Oman, further strengthening our ties to the region and enhancing the scientific rigor of the work.
The first proposal focuses on predicting corrosion rates in steam flooding facilities, which is vital for the extraction of heavy oil. By studying the corrosive effects in these environments, we aim to improve operational efficiency and safety.
The second proposal targets galvanic corrosion in oilfield conditions, where we will investigate the galvanic series of key metallic materials and develop strategies for optimising material selection to reduce costs and ensure asset integrity.
These proposals mark a strategic shift for Hydrafact as we explore new sectors and bring specialised expertise to solve complex challenges. While these are still in the proposal stage, they highlight our proactive approach to innovation and our ability to work with top-tier academic and industry partners.
