Hydrafact Named as a Finalist in the 2025 Offshore Achievement Awards (OAA) for Emerging Technology

🌟 We’ve made it to the finals! We are so excited to announce that our ThermoQuartz ResoSense technology has earned us a finalist position in the Emerging Technology of the Year category at the 38th @Offshore Achievement Awards!🎉
This recognition from the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is a testament to our relentless dedication to advancing technology for the energy sector. ThermoQuartz ResoSense is a cutting-edge innovative technology to deliver precise, real-time monitoring of CCUS streams—supporting decarbonisation and bolstering the UK’s industrial and environmental goals.
As energy operators worldwide take note of this transformative solution, we are proud to contribute to the UK’s leadership in the energy transition. This technology isn’t just a breakthrough—it’s a game-changer for sustainability and profitability in the energy industry.
This innovative technology from Hydrafact utilises Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) technology to offer exceptional sensitivity in phase behaviour and particle detection, enabling the precise measurement of fluid properties at the nanoscale. This revolutionising technology allows operators to detect even the smallest changes in fluid behavior, opening new possibilities for fluid analyses which were previously inaccessible using traditional methods.
In addition to the CCUS streams, this ground-breaking ThermoQuartz ResoSense technology can be used for addressing flow assurance challenges including accurate measurements of wax appearance and disappearance temperatures, asphaltene precipitation and deposition monitoring, moisture detection, and the initiation of any inorganic and organic scale deposition processes. The device replicates real-world conditions including high pressure (up to 700 bar) high temperature operating conditions in presence of shear stress and corrosive gases (e.g., H2S) and also temperature gradients found along pipeline walls, all of which precisely simulate real-field conditions for flow assurance and fluid behaviour investigations on-site and off-site. This level of insight enables the studies of complex phenomena that were once beyond the reach of conventional techniques.
We look forward to the awards ceremony in Aberdeen this March, where we’ll celebrate alongside our peers and industry leaders.
Thanks a lot to our wonderful industrial and academic partners and collaborators who have supported us on this journey. Here’s to innovation and a more sustainable future!🌿
